
Hemorrhagic Stroke – Osteopathic Body Adjustment Treatment
The present study was entitled Hemorrhagic Stroke – Osteopathic Treatment of Body Adjustment (OTBA), carried out as part of the Specialization Course in Classical Osteopathy.
Stroke is one of the most prevalent and deadly diseases worldwide. Through the osteopathic approach it is possible to influence the physiology of the body and contribute to health. The main objective of the study was to document the intervention of Classical Osteopathy, through OTBA in a patient victim of haemorrhagic stroke.
Data and findings on the patient’s condition were collected using assessment methods described in the literature and the OTBA was applied in 29 osteopathy sessions over 16 weeks.
The results revealed improvements in the patient’s general condition contributing to an increase in his quality of life.
It is concluded that OTBA has effects in a hemorrhagic stroke condition, namely on joint mobility, muscle strength, gastrointestinal system and quality and quantity of sleep.
